Diverse vase-shaped microfossils within a Cryogenian glacial setting in the Urucum Formation (Brazil)

چکیده
Vase-shaped microfossils (VSMs) attributed to testate amoebae occur globally in diverse assemblages Tonian rocks. These have thus been considered a potential biostratigraphic tool, especially for the interval between 789 and 729 Ma. Here we report well-preserved situ VSM assemblage, including several taxa previously as Tonian, within glacially influenced deposits which sedimentological data support Cryogenian age. However, more robust recent multi-proxy correlation proposed by Freitas et al. (2021) indicates Marinoan age studied succession. Detrital zircon provide maximum depositional weighted mean of 749 ± 3 Ma VSM-bearing, organic-rich, fine-grained sequence Urucum Formation. Nine are described from upper Formation, Jacadigo Group, Brazil: Cycliocyrillium simplex, Bonniea dacruchares, pytinaia, Bombycion micron, Limeta lageniformis, Palaeoarcella athanata, Trigonocyrillium horodyskii, Pakupaku kabin cf. Taruma rata. The discovery VSMs attributable specific succession challenges previous thinking that these organisms disappeared marine ecosystems at end Tonian.

740 Ma vase-shaped microfossils from Yukon, Canada: Implications for Neoproterozoic chronology and biostratigraphy
Biostratigraphy underpins the Phanerozoic time scale, but its application to pre-Ediacaran strata has remained limited because Proterozoic taxa commonly have long or unknown stratigraphic ranges, poorly understood taphonomic constraints, and/or inadequate geochronological context. Here we report the discovery of abundant vase-shaped microfossils from the Callison Lake dolostone of the Coal Cree...
متن کاملVase-shaped Microfossils from the Neoproterozoic Chuar Group, Grand Canyon: a Classification Guided by Modern Testate Amoebae
Vase-shaped microfossil (VSM) assemblages from early diagenetic carbonate nodules in .742 6 6 Ma black shales of the Chuar Group, Grand Canyon, provide evidence for affinities with testate amoebae. Not only are VSMs exceptionally preserved in Chuar rocks, they exhibit a much higher degree of morphological diversity than was previously known. Using the taxonomy of modern testate amoebae as a gui...
متن کاملBiologically agglutinated eukaryotic microfossil from Cryogenian cap carbonates.
Cryogenian cap carbonates that overlie Sturtian glacial deposits were formed during a post-glacial transgression. Here, we describe microfossils from the Kakontwe Formation of Zambia and the Taishir Formation of Mongolia-both Cryogenian age, post-Sturtian cap carbonates-and investigate processes involved in their formation and preservation. We compare microfossils from these two localities to a...
متن کاملheterogeneity within the orientalist discourse: representation of the orient in womens travelogues and mens paintings
from 1950s onward, new theories and critical approaches burgeoned across humanities. these theories were context-oriented; as a result, the analysis of discursive practices gained significance. thus, social, political, historical and cultural discourses that have been hitherto marginalized and considered inferior to literary texts, were introduced as important texts to be analyzed by critics. o...
DIFFUSION AND REACTION WITHIN A SHAPED NICKEL PEROVSKITE CATALYST
Abstract : In this study, we prepared a LaNi0.3Al0.7O3 perovskite catalyst using a sol-gel related method (with prop ionic acid as a solvent) for use in the methane dry reforming reaction to produce synthesis gas. We defined the catalyst structure on the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis and measurements of the specific surface area and particle size distribution. The mixed oxide structure ...
